CLOSE ENCOUNTER LEVEL III

I was 18 at the time.  After exams at the university, I spent some my holidays with relatives in a small village in Poland, province Łódż.  It was July, beatiful summer weather. At night, I liked to sleep in large attic, where the grass was dried, on which I spread the bedding. I slept there alone, sometimes with cat. I  entered attic from the outside of the house, succesively by two ladders ( one ladder from the ground to the roof of the annex, next lader from this roof to the big window of attic ). For safety’s sake , I pulled the second ladder behind me after entering the attic. I left window of attic open because I really liked the sight of the starry sky. In addiction to the handheid flashlight, it was also the only possible light source in this attic.

One night, while I asleep, something told me to wakeup. I realized that sleeping with me cat  suddenly somewhere ran away. Besides, I could feel clearly someone’s presence. I turned on the flashlight, got up and illuminated the place on the right side of me in direction of the window, where I felt someone’s presence.I also came closer. What I saw there I will not forget until the end my life and hope never to see something like to it again !

At the distance of about a meter from me there were several (4, 5 ) living figures. There were persons or humanoid robots  of short statue about 1 meter 30 centimeters. I could only see their heads and upper torso because I had  it them wit my small flashlight.Their faces had features somewhat similar to people in China, but more like lizards, They were yellow-green in color. Their eyes were characteristic, not human, more like reptilian pupils. Their eyeswere not verymobile, like those of warans or snakes, I saw  thatthey were breatching. They did not stand still, but swayed slightly, like a man who stands shifting from foot to foot.

They were looking right at me and I was looking into their eyes.I was more and more terrifiedot their difference from people, their strangeness, I felt that I wouldn’t last long I tried to control myself.

They spoke to me telepathically. Here is the content of what they said or what I understood :

” We are from a very long distance, but we used to live on this planet (Earth ), a very long time ago. The living conditions here became unbearable for us due to natural disartersand we had to emigrate from here. Now sometimes we come back here and delighted how beatiful the Eart has become. We are  delighted alsowith the apperance of people. We envy your apperance and living condition a little. We wonder if we should return to Earth permanently and what to do with you, people then.”

Psychology describes a phenomenon that it calls cognitive dissonance.. The human psyche can not adapt quickly when the cognitive dissonanceis too great. So I  could no longer stand the feelingof alienation, the otherness of these beings from us, humans. I don’t mean intellectual otherness, but different emotions.  I did noot sense any goodness or kindness from they (persons ?, robots ? ). I felt that they were incapable of such feelings as compassion, grief, pity. I had the feeling that they could be rationally and ruthenessly agresive. It seemed to me that in a moment they could done  me , a great harm, something very bad.Icouldn’t control my growing panic any longer. That’s why I ran away. I rember that I was running away onladders, but I dont remember how I wa able to put up the ladder and what I did with flashlight. I know it was already light, dawn.

I remember very well that  I had a firmconviction that I should not tell anyone about my experience, so as no to scare anyone.

I think that these beings had a psyche similar to robots, deprived of the feeling of pain, friendship or love. Maybe they were just robots sent by living person, who had no immunity to live here. But these “robots” seemed capable of independent, albeit mechanical decisions. They were not capable to empathy or even to  creative imagination at a very high intelectual level.
